The tenth annual Roadless Ride to benefit Brent's Place took place today at Pura Vida Fitness and Health Club in Cherry Creek North. The Roadless Ride is an all day Spinathon, riding stationary bicycles mixed in with rowing on ergometers. Pura Vida also offered several Yoga and Will Power and Grace classes throughout the day, all sponsored by the various instructors and donations by participants towards Brent's Place. Brent's Place is located near Children's Hospital and is a home away from home for children that are undergoing treatments for cancer. Children's Hospital in Denver treats children from all over Colorado and neighboring states, Brent's Place is available to those families that have children that are involved in oncology treatments that last for weeks at a time. Brent's Place provides a home atmosphere, with love and caring and "old-fashion" fun.
Today's fundraiser was sponsored by several Cherry Creek North retailers and restaurants that provided coupons and food and beverage. Warm drinks by INK were a welcome sight at 6 am for the first spin class, in a tent between Fillmore and Milwaukee at the entrance to Pura Vida.
Cherry Creek North is a community that supports a variety of non-profit organizations. The community is mixed-use with residential and retail living side by side, or in the case of NorthCreek residential living above the retail. When there is a community fund raising event it provides a chance for the neighborhood to meet and greet, a small town feel in an urban setting.
