Summer is such a short and sweet season which begs the question...how do I get "Mooore"? The answer is just a few blocks from the front doors of NorthCreek. The Denver Botanic Gardens is home to the first major open-air Henry Moore Exhibition in the western United States. "Moore in the Gardens" presents 20 monumental works by British sculptor, Henry Moore (1898 - 1986). Henry Moore changed the way people saw nature and art. Moore found inspiration in the natural environment and his works, as displayed in a landscape setting, emphasize the harmonious relationship of humanity to nature.
The artist established The Henry Moore Foundation in 1977 to encourage public appreciation of the visual arts. The 20 sculptures are located throughout the Gardens, a visual treat to enjoy the beauty of the summer bounty mixed with the provocative sculptures. The Denver Botanic Gardens features lectures and tours as well as many family and youth activities. Early evening is a wonderful time to visit with family and friends and a picnic.
