When Alexander Graham Bell finished his invention, he knew that he had something of value but he did not have the economic means to get this value into distribution. Bell went to Western Union and offered to sell his invention for approximately $11,000 but they turned him down. Western Union felt that there was no value in a telephone, communicating by voice, that a printed message would always hold more value. Bell was not deterred, stayed true to his value and sought other investors. He went on to build one of the largest companies in our nation's history.
When you have something of value and stay true to that value, you have invested in sustainability.
